Despite it's colorful and kiddy veneer, Color Guardians is a supremely challenging platformer that requires skill, dexterity, and a damn good memory. Easy to learn and quite impossible to master, the game challenges players to quickly negotiate an onslaught of obstacles while shifting between colors. It's multi-tasking madness.
A New Combination
Simple mechanics come together in a game that is easy to learn but challenging to master; jump, switch lanes, and swap colors to stay ahead of the stages
Restore color to the Guardians' universe across several worlds and over 70 challenging stages, realized in beautiful graphic detail
Hunt through stages for hidden unlockables including music, art, character models and more; challenge friends' scores on the leaderboards and improve your performance, and earn your way up to a Platinum Trophy on PlayStation platforms!
What is Color Guardians?
Color Guardians is a side-scrolling action platformer coming to Steam PC and Mac, PS4 and Vita in May. Multi-tasking has never been so much fun and/or frustrating, challenging players to discover the depths of their dexterity.
So is this another endless runner?
It's not, the levels are crafted unquiely to provide a sense of progression absent in an endless runner. Where those games challenge players to jump at the right time, we have a cleverly designed supply of obstacles to negotiate that get increasingly more complex as you progress through the worlds. Mix that with the constant swap colors and you get a recipe for a challenge.
Okay, so a more in-depth endless runner.
It's actually more of a side-scrolling platformer built from the ground up for next generation devices, with all of the features you'd expect from such a title - a variety of unlockables, an excellent soundtrack, and planned DLC updates after the game is live.
Cool! So you're localizing Color Guardians for different markets?
Indeed we are. Expect localized English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian versions at launch, and we're working with Sony's Japanese team to bring the game to Japan soon after launch.
When is it launching?
Color Guardians will launch simultaneously on PS4, Vita, and Steam on May 12th. (PSN Europe will release on May 15th)
And the price?
$14.99 USD (~€9.99 EUR)
What about PS3?
We already started the port to PS3 but that will be launched at a later date. Don't take this for granted but early-July is our plan.
So, who are you guys?
We're a Costa Rican studio with more than 50 developers and artists who've been making games since 2003. The Latin American game development scene has exploded over the last year or so, and we couldn't be more excited to be working with Sony and Valve to bring some Latin flavor to gamers around the world!
